The name Reg Greenwood has been associated with Pontefract for over 70 years. Owned and operated by Reg, the Company began as Potato Merchants delivering up and down the country. The Company diversified into the supply of Agricultural Tyres with its locally known ‘On the Farm Service’, adding Car and Commercial Service along the way. After owner and founder Reg Passed away his son-in-law Reg Thompson ran the company until his untimely death in 1981.
The company was purchased in 1981 by Ken Clarke, owner of Ossett Tyre House (Ken Clarke Ltd), who had been trading since 1974.
The company name Reg Greenwood (Tyres & Exhausts) Ltd remained as it was (and still is !) a household name for miles around the Pontefract area.
1996 the company decided to invest in a complete overhaul of the facilities taking the site away from the stereotypical “back street garage” image and making it “customer friendly” especially for families and professional people wanting efficient, clean surroundings.
The Company has continued to look to add new ideas to its portfolio in all aspects of the car and commercial industry.
Reg Greenwood (Tyres and Exhausts) Ltd now offers their customers a lot more than it did over 35 years ago with the introduction of new services such as 4-wheel alignment, vehicle diagnostics, Servicing and security.
